Art in Our Lives grew out of the conversations of a group of Native women artists who spoke frankly about the roles, responsibilities, and commitments in their lives while balancing this existence with their art practice. Finding common ground, they started out as a small group of six that eventually grew to eleven who ranged in age from seventy to twenty-seven with backgrounds as diverse as.   Which colors would end up on the canvas of our lives, what shades, which dark colors, which bright colors, would end up on our individual canvases? If we were asked to paint the canvas of our lives today, right this moment, which colors would we start with, which colors would we joyfully paint, which colors would we cringe and wince from painting?

  What is the role of art in our lives? Is art limited to museums, orchestras and theatres? Is it important? To answer these questions better, we need to start with an age-old question: What is art?The debate prevails. Some say that we can call art only the things that are approved to be so by an authority. Others, bring forward a point that art is a product of a relationship between the creator. She is an international award-winning artist, has published a book, authored 2 articles and been featured in numerous magazines and books. She is a highly sought-after instructor and lecturer throughout the U.S., and we feel very fortunate to have her as one of our Cole Art Studio instructors.

  5 Ways to Get More Art into Your Life. As I’ve thought about this subject, I’ve come up with five super simple ways to get more art into our lives. Cultivate a taste for beauty.
